A Naming Ceremony offers the chance to celebrate new life. It is a wonderful occasion for families to celebrate the birth of a child, to officially name a child and to share the dreams and aspirations for a child's future.
The ceremony is an opportunity to mark personal commitment; to uphold the wellbeing, the dreams, and the welfare for the child. This ceremony can be performed with newborns and children of any age alike.
It can also be a chance to welcome new step-children or an adopted child into the family, and for families and communities to come together to unite and bond.
Traditional christenings are often impersonal. Peter Ellson offers you a unique and personalised service, where you can celebrate your child coming into the world however, whenever and wherever you choose.
Peter works together with you to offer and plan celebration rituals such as candle blessings or balloon releasing ceremonies.
The naming ceremony is an excellent occasion for the cultural expression of joy, hope and acceptance.

The Name Giving Ceremony Planning Process
Just register an interest with Peter online (Contact Peter) or give him a call/text on 0419 124 841. He will first talk through the options with you and normally set up an informal meeting.
2. Meet up
At the meeting, he will want to hear about you and what you both would like, share some examples and then if everyone is happy book you in.
3. Draft the ceremony
Once the date and venue are set Peter will draft up your unique personal ceremony, which is usually a collaborative process. The final draft is agreed about a month before your special day.
We hold a rehearsal at the venue (if available), a week beforehand. This is optional, however it’s very useful to discuss your ceremony with the relevant parties. Here the script can be polished and the plans finalised.
5. Celebrate the special day.
You all have a relaxed and enjoyable naming ceremony.
